Monday, April 18th:
Since some of our students had decided not to sleep too much, we saw quite a few pale faces in the morning at breakfast.
We knew what was ahead of us...
First, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament, in full preparation for the Royal wedding.
Then, a boat trip on the river Thames to Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, where we didn't see the crown jewels because of a queue at least 1 km long, but we did see many other historic objects.
A walk to St. Paul's Cathedral, and off to Oxford St. for some serious shopping. Dinner was served near the Tower, Fish 'n Chips/Chicken 'n Chips to choice. To digest everything, an after dinner walk over Tower Bridge and along the South Bank till Tate Modern, and crossing the Thames over the Millennium Bridge. Then a long ride back to the hostel (seated comfortably). Shower and off to bed.
Today we got our Badge for being "experienced group travellers during rush hour"! Wow, that was really an awesome experience, so busy, so many people, but everything went fine, not in the least because of the students' discipline! Great job!
More to follow tomorrow... we'll spare their feet a little....

Sunday April 17th:
After a pleasant flight and a bus transfer from Stansted to London Victoria Station in a bus equipped with a sauna, we arrived at the hostel by underground. At first, some of the students were disappointed by the "s" in hostel, but after some time, happiness and coziness prevailed, and everyone felt very happy in their 4 and 6 person dorms.
After a delicious and ample meal at Edgy's restaurant in the hostel, we left for a nightly walk through London. From Leicester Square to Trafalgar Square, climbing the lions at Nelson's column, Big Ben, Thames River, London Eye and Chinatown. Everyone will be in bed by 23.30.
(probably with sore feet)
